We are a busy WA Regional Port that places the highest emphasis on our people, customers, and community in conducting our daily business. We are excited to commence the search for a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team. 

This position will cover a period of maternity leave, the Senior Environmental Advisor coordinates long term monitoring and environmental management programs to ensure all operations on port land are conducted in an environmentally responsible way. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and MWPA’s Environmental Licence. Actively promote environmental initiatives and maintain a strong environmental focus at an operational level.

 

Assist in the development, implementation, review and auditing of MWPA’s emission management and reduction strategies. Maintain management system documentation as required to maintain certification to AS/NZS 4801, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. Provides advice on environmental management and compliance with the DWER Environmental License for operations.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant Environmental Tertiary Qualifications and/or Industry Training.
  • A thorough knowledge of environmental legislation and requirements;
  • At least 5 years environmental experience in the marine, mining, construction or similar industries;
  • Experience in incident investigation and reporting;
  • Experience in coordinating specialist environmental studies and/or improvement programs;
  • Experience in developing and delivering environmental monitoring programs;
  • Experience in data analysis and interpretation;
  • Demonstrated high level report writing skills; and
  • Sound computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database systems

 

Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Geraldton.
