Position Description - Sustainability Manager

We are excited to commence the search for a high performer to join our team.

The successful applicant will have had six (6) years’ previous experience in mining, transport or relevant industry with excellent knowledge of environmental legislation. You will be a driven leader that will inspire your team through effective coaching and collaboration. The ability to build strong, collaborative partnerships with community groups, staff and stakeholders to promote environmentally sustainable practices will be key to your success in this role.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES: (Selection Criteria)

  • A thorough knowledge of Sustainability and Environmental Legislation and requirements;
  • Proven experience in building and driving sustainability and environment programs across an organization using a collaborative approach;
  • Experience in incident investigation and reporting, with the ability to explore underlying issues of complex and ill-defined problems. Developing appropriate responses in a timely manner through critical thinking and creative solutions;
  • Demonstrated experience within relevant industry, along with experience in working with government and regulatory stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior staff, which can drive engagement and articulate complex concepts and present compelling arguments;
  • Proven experience in quality people management;
  • Demonstrated experience in successful project management, including planning, engagement, monitoring and reporting to meet or exceed specified outcomes and timeframes;
  • Sound communication skills;
  • Sound computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database systems; and
  • Demonstrated high level report writing and analytical skills.
