About the Program
At Mid West Ports, building meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships with our community is at the heart of what we do.
Our Not-for-Profit (NFP) Partnership Program allows us to form lasting, three-year partnerships with local not-for-profit organisations that align with our values and vision.
This program provides stability for both Mid West Ports and our partners, fostering strong, collaborative relationships over a three-year term.
With a total value of $22,400, the program includes a series of agreed-upon benefits that both the organisation and Mid West Ports will enjoy throughout the partnership.

- $10,000 in funding.
- 2x organic posts on MWPA social media.
- 16 hours of general maintenance support (i.e. painting, carpentry).
- 16 hours of administration support (i.e. event planning, graphic design).
- Opportunity to have a stall at Port open days or cruise ship visits.

- 1x joint media release to announce partnership.
- Opportunity to present updates or information to organisation or committee.
- Opportunity to place banner/ signage at organisation offices, headquarters and/or hosted events.
- Opportunity to place material in organisational newsletter, club meetings etc.

Year two
|
- $5,000 in funding.
- 2x shares on Mid West Ports social media.
- 8 hours of general maintenance support (i.e. painting, carpentry).
- 8 hours of administration support (i.e. event planning, graphic design).
- Opportunity to have a stall at Port open days or cruise ship visits.

- 2x social media post promoting Mid West Ports support.
- Opportunity for Mid West Ports staff involvement at 1x NFP event, volunteering opportunity or function.
- Opportunity to place material in organisational newsletter, club meetings etc.

Year three

- $2,500 in funding.
- 1x shares on Mid West Ports social media.
- 8 hours of administration support (i.e. event planning, graphic design).

- 2x social media post promoting Mid West Ports support.
- One x joint media release to conclude partnership.
- 1x social media post acknowledging end of partnership.

Program details
The Mid West Ports NFP Partnership Program opens for applications in November and closes late December each year.
Applicants will be notified by email of the outcome of their application by 31 January 2023. Mid West Ports receives many NFP applications each year and unfortunately cannot support every submission.
Successful applications will be selected from those submissions which meet the Mid West Ports NFP criteria detailed below and which offer the opportunity for MWPA to contribute to the community in which we live and work.
If you would like to be considered for the Mid West Ports NFP Partnership Program, please tell us about your organisation by completing the application form below.
To allow Mid West Ports to fairly assess each application, the following guidelines have been provided to gauge if your submission fits within our partnership criteria.
Eligibility
Mid West Ports will accept NFP Partnership applications from not-for-profit organisations aligned with Mid West Ports in the following categories:
- Environmental improvement or protection;
- Initiatives engaging the community in maritime-based education or activities;
- Community welfare programs;
- Youth education or leadership aimed at giving young people opportunities for self-development and community outreach; or
- Organisations supporting and creating opportunities for Indigenous peoples.
Application criteria
Applicants must meet all the following criteria in order to be considered:
- Be deemed an associated organisation of Mid West Ports by the NFP Partnership Program Committee;
- No material conflicts of interest or perceived conflicts of interest with Mid West Ports;
- Have all applicable insurances and certificates of currency of insurance;
- Be connected to the region in which Mid West Ports operates;
- Link to Mid West Ports' values of accountability, caring, courage, collaboration and integrity;
- Allow Mid West Ports to promote NFP Program recipients on our website, in the media and on social media; and
- Agree to your records being kept as part of our record-keeping and reporting obligations.
Applications supporting the additional criterion below will be favourable during the selection process:
- The organisation has the ability to meet the agreed upon items that both Mid West Ports and the organisation will receive as part of the 3-year term.
Applications WILL NOT be granted to the following:
- Political parties/activities or religious organisations;
- Activities intended to provide the sponsored party with private profit or gain;
- Proposals involving products, brands or companies that conflict with the strategic direction, values or behaviours of MWPA;
- Organisations that promote or encourage gambling, drinking, smoking or any substance abuse;
- Organisations that may present a reputational risk for Mid West Ports;
- Applications that do not meet all application requirements; or
- Applications received after the program closing date.
Confidentiality
Mid West Ports will take all reasonable actions to respect and protect the confidentiality of information provided by applicants for the NFP Partnership Program, especially in cases where the application has been unsuccessful.
Mid West Ports reserves the right to retain and use the information provided by the application for record-keeping and reporting obligations.
By submitting the NFP Partnership application form, an applicant also agrees to its information being used and disclosed for the purposes of assessing its application and if successful, for the purpose of awarding a grant and relevant promotional activities.
