With effect from 1 July 2014 the Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA) has registered with Tenders WA for the provision of tendering services.

Potential suppliers are able to check what tenders are presently available by using the Tenders WA website.

By registering with Tenders WA, suppliers to MWPA are able to receive email advice when tenders are called. Information about registrations is provided below.

MWPA1701 - Geraldton Port Firefighting Strategy - Detailed Design

Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA) is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to provide all necessary services for the detailed design of a Port Firefighting System.

The Port Firefighting System will be a detailed design of fire protection upgrade works that will include wet and dry fire services.

The intent of the Port Firefighting System upgrade works is:

  • achieve compliance with required Standards, Codes of Practice and other legislative and regulatory requirements;
  • improved first response capability;
  • risk reduction and mitigation; and
  • maintaining Port business continuity.

MWPA1703 - Provision of Towage Services for the Port of Geraldton

MWPA is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the Provision of Towage Services for the Port of Geraldton.

The Licensee will be required to provide all services relating to the towing of vessels within the Port including all tugs, equipment, fuel, labour and any other resources necessary to facilitate a complete towage service in the Port for the term of the licence.

The Licensee will be required to ensure that towage services are available to all Port customers who wish to engage the licensee when required from time to time throughout the term, 24 hours a day, seven days per week and 365 days per year.

Additionally, to carry out emergency services at the direction of the Department of Fire and Emergency Service of Western Australia (DFES) or Harbour Master.

Supply of Goods and Services

MWPA's Tendering Procedure for Supply of Goods and Services has been amended with the following effect:

  • No physical tenders will be accepted by MWPA at the Port.
  • All Tenders for supply of Goods and Services to the MWPA must be lodged electronically through the Tenders WA website.
  • All suppliers wishing to lodge tenders for the supply of goods and services to MWPA must be registered with Tenders WA.

Registration is required to:

  • View all tender documentation.
  • Download tender documentation.
  • Request hard copies of tender documentation.
  • Upload tender responses electronically. (i.e. to submit tenders)
  • Receive email notifications during the course of tender processes.
  • Maintenance of supplier business details.
  • Receive advice of tenders that are available.

A user guide for respondents to tenders is available on the Tenders WA website and provides useful information on minimum system requirements and the features of the Tenders WA electronic tendering system.
