We are a busy WA regional port that places the highest emphasis on our people, customers, and community in conducting our daily business. We are excited to commence the search for a Communications Advisor / Graduate to join our team. 

Reporting to the Senior Communications Officer, the Communications Advisor / Graduate will be responsible for delivering and supporting stakeholder engagement initiatives which positively impact on MWPA’s future sustainability by ensuring our reputation is strong, resilient and engaging.

 The Communications Team facilitates a variety of roles at MWPA including stakeholder communications, community engagement, corporate document development, marketing, event coordination, reputation management and cruise management.  This role will be involved with all aspects of team responsibilities, working in conjunction with the Senior Communications Officer and Communications Officer to deliver on these priorities.

 The successful candidate will be a positive and proactive person who demonstrates the ability to learn, develop and work within a tight knit team for the benefit of the organisation.

 Graduates of communications, public relations, marketing or journalism disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply.

 Essential competencies include:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate on all levels of business.
  • Demonstrated excellent time management skills that enables competing priorities to be managed effectively.
  • Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, develop effective networks and partnerships.
  • Experience and knowledge of social media channels in a corporate context.

 

Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Geraldton.
