We are a busy WA Regional Port that places the highest emphasis on our people, customers, and community in conducting our daily business. We are excited to commence the search for a Graduate Environmental Advisor to join our team. 

This position will support the MWPA Sustainability Department in conducting risk based environmental monitoring programs to ensure all operations on port land are conducted in an environmentally responsible way.  This role assists in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and the MWPA Environmental Licence.  The role is required to actively research solutions and promote continuous improvement.  The Graduate maintains a strong focus on the operational level environmental performance and successful implementation of sustainability initiatives.

 

This role will assist in the implementation of initiatives and review the performance of MWPA’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Management System as certified to AS/NZS 4801, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

 To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant environmental tertiary qualification (i.e., Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering degree or similar) progressing towards or completed in the past 2 years
  • A sound knowledge of environmental management and Western Australian environmental legislative requirements;
  • Experience in undertaking environmental monitoring programs and analysis of data;
  • Demonstrated high level report writing skills;
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, GIS and database systems; and
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills

 

Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Geraldton.
