Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA) Chief Executive Officer Dr Rochelle Macdonald confirmed that she has not tested positive to COVID-19 and remains in Queensland with her partner.

Dr Macdonald has been in Queensland since the 12th March 2020, initially on leave, then working remotely, when her partner fell sick and was confirmed positive with COVID-19 after returning from overseas.

Dr Macdonald said: “I am feeling fine and showing no symptoms of having contracted the virus. I remain in Queensland while my partner recovers after a visit overseas earlier in the month.”

“I continue to lead the port during this challenging time. We have the systems and processes in place, in addition to an amazing team, that allows us to deliver a world class service while offering industry-benchmarked health and safety standards,” Dr Macdonald said.

“Mid West Ports works hard to provide a safe and efficient service, not just in good times, but also in uncertain times like now. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to minimise the impact of COVID-19 in our community,” Dr Macdonald said
