Port apprentice Lachlan Gray

This week we see Lachlan Gray qualifying as a Certified Electrician and accepting a job offer by Aireflect in Perth, such are his sought after skills gained on Port.

Lachlan said “my favourite part about working at the port has been the level of diversity that is available.  Being an industrial environment it provides opportunity to be exposed to 3 phase motors.  Working with so many qualified electricians, all with different specialties has also been a highlight.”

MWPAs Electrical Superintendent, Graeme Clarke describes Lachlan as being” intelligent, likeable and keen to learn.  He was very green from an industrial electrical perspective when he started with the BHF team and has done well to catch up and complete his apprenticeship on time”.

A huge Everton soccer fan, Lachlan also plays soccer in the La Fiamma Perth Soccer team which sees him travel to Perth every second weekend “The level of competition down there is fantastic.  It’s great to play up against such talent and continue to develop my skills."

His other love is scuba diving and spends a lot of time diving off the Abrolhos when ever he gets the opportunity and he is looking forward to diving on the St Ives shipwrecks when he travels to England in six months time.

Born and bred in Geraldton Lachlan finished his schooling at Geraldton Senior and has been with the port for the last 13 months.
