Applications are now open for Mid West Ports Community Grants Program

• Mid West Ports is hosting four grant writing workshops running between February and March 2026 to support applicants

The 2026 Mid West Ports Community Grants Program is now open!

Aimed at boosting local organisations based in the Mid West, the annual grant round funds events, projects and initiatives which support the region’s vibrancy, its people and education.

The program is open to community organisations based within the wider Mid West region; from Kalbarri, through to Leeman and as far east as Wiluna, and offers grants of up to $10,000.
Mid West Ports Chief Executive Officer Damian Tully said: “We are thrilled to support initiatives that enhance our community. We understand that many organisations rely on volunteer power, and our hope is that through this grants program, the Mid West region will continue to build on its strengths through a diverse offering of local events and initiatives.”

The Mid West Ports Community Grants Program supports:
• Environmental improvement and protection initiatives;
• Maritime-based education or activities;
• Community welfare programs;
• Youth education or leadership programs;
• Community events; and
• Initiatives supporting and creating opportunities for Aboriginal people.

Projects funded by the 2025 Mid West Ports Grants Program include the Wave Rally World Championships, a world-class windsurfing event that attracted competitors from across the world, the Northampton Agricultural Show and a Morawa District Highschool P&C infrastructure project to build shade for a large undercover area over the school's combined basketball, netball, and tennis courts.

For those interested in applying for a 2026 grant, Mid West Ports will host four community grant writing workshops between February and March. The workshops are designed to assist people with the application process.
