Celebrating Local Success: 2025/26 Community Grants Recipients Announced

• More than $100,000 awarded to Mid West community groups as part of 2025/26 Mid West Ports Community Grants Program
• Twelve community groups have been awarded grants of up to $10,000


Mid West Ports is proud to announce the successful applicants for its 2025/26 Community Grants Program, unveiled this week.


Under the program, grants of up to $10,000 are available to support eligible projects that make a positive impact to the Mid West region. These include environmental improvement or protection initiatives; maritime-based education or engagement activities; community welfare programs; youth education and leadership development; community events that bring people together; and initiatives that support and create opportunities for Aboriginal people.

This year, over $100,000 has been awarded to support a wide range of community-led initiatives across the Mid West.


Mid West Ports CEO Damian Tully said the program reflects the organisation’s ongoing commitment to making a meaningful contribution to the community we live, work and play in.


“We’re proud to stand behind initiatives that reflect the energy, resilience and innovation of our region. These projects are driven by passionate people with great ideas, and we’re excited to see these activities take shape in the community,” Mr Tully said.


The 2025/26 round received an impressive number of applications, with 12 projects selected for funding following a thorough evaluation process. This year’s recipients represent a diverse cross-section of community organisations from within the wider Mid West region.

2025/26 successful recipients include:


• Northampton District Agricultural Society - Northampton Show
• Spokes Cycle Club - 2025 Backroads Gravel
• Morawa District Highschool P&C – Creating shade for the Indigenous Girls of Morawa and surrounds
• Geraldton Open Studios & Surrounds – Improved Engagement Materials
• Geraldton Windsurfing Club - Wave Rally World Championships
• Adjiko Indigenous Corporation – Adjiko Cultural Event
• Leaning Tree Steiner School - Giving Plastic A New Life
• For A Better Chapman Valley (FabCV) - Coronation Beach Community Wingfoil Shelter
• Batavia Coast Miniature Railway Society Inc – Provision of a sea container
• Headspace Geraldton – Therapy Garden Extension Project
• Lavendar Valley Farm - Chapman Valley Country Music Festival
• Cancer Council WA - Mid West Centre Activation and Wig Service Improvements

In addition, a new 3-year partnership was established with the Midwest Multicultural Association to support the delivery of their two flagship annual cultural festivals.


Mid West Ports congratulates all successful recipients and looks forward to seeing these projects take shape over the coming months.
